 | The sense of peace and oneness with nature that envelops me when I am photographing is hypnotizing. Mother Nature's richness and enchantment abounds beyond imagination. Visualize the Earth's kaleidoscope of colors as beams of light bring to life one remarkable mosaic after another...This is what our natural world offers as it stimulates our senses through it's tapestry of flora and fauna.

Windows of Nature by Dee Ann offering the photographic community, art collectors, nature and animal lovers alike, exciting and exotic venues to explore by photo-artist, Dee Ann Pederson. Dee Ann is a native of Houston, Texas, USA. Her awareness and respect for nature began at a young age during family vacations to visit our national parks and natural wonders, and at the age of seventeen, Dee Ann began to cultivate her love for photography while working as a photographer’s assistant. Her abundant energy and “wanderlust” have led her to Costa Rica, Fiji, Hawaii, Kenya, Tanzania, India, Newfoundland, British Columbia, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Yosemite National Park, South Texas and one of her favorite wilderness destinations, Alaska, including Denali National Park, Kenai Fjords National Park, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and the Alaska Peninsula. In 2007 she also made an expedition aboard a Russian ice strengthened vessel above 80˚ north to the High Arctic. Dee Ann’s special perspectives of our natural world, distilled into amazing "windows", have been captured by images garnered from her numerous adventure expeditions. Dee Ann’s images are sold as framed limited edition fine art prints through private/gallery shows and Windows of Nature web store; they have been licensed for use on clothing, sold for editorial and commercial use; including National Geographic Traveler, National Geographic Expeditions, Yale University, Holland American Cruise Line, British Airways as well as travel books and others. For the past two years, she has had images on exhibit in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. in the collection of Nature’s Best Photography Awards She is a member of the North American Nature Photographers Association and is committed to habitat and wildlife conservation through her support of organizations like The Cougar Fund – co-founders Tom Mangelsen and Cara Blessley Lowe, The Jane Goodall Institute and Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Program, National Audubon Society, Nature’s Best Foundation, National Wildlife Federation, World Wildlife Fund, The Nature Conservancy, Polar Bears International, Sierra Club, The East African Wildlife Society, Conservation International and active on the Houston Zoo Advisory Council. |
